• You need to have good and effective non-verbal communication. This includes the way you carry yourself, they way you sit, eye contact and a firm handshake.
• Another thing that the interviewer will notice about you is how you dress yourself. You need to look smart because believe it or not, appearance does matter. You have to look well-groomed as well as professional.
• When the interviewer is talking, you should listen to him clearly and nod your head if you agree with him or simply to let him know that you are listening to what he is saying.
• Try not to talk so much. Only answer the questions that you have been asked and when he asks you whether you would like to ask him anything about the job, then you should ask him your questions but make sure you do not ask unnecessary or useless things.
• Remember that an interview is a business meeting and as such, you should not behave too friendly with the interviewer. You are not there to make a new friend but simply to get the job that you want.
• Your attitude is very important when you are in an interview. Try not to use slangs or talk about sensitive topics such as religion, race, sexual orientation, politics, etc.
• Think properly before you answer the questions but make sure you do not take too long as you do not want to keep the interviewer waiting.
• You also should not look like you are desperate for the job.
